Afia Schwarzenegger’s dreams have come true after the Accra High Court agreed to commute her prison sentence.
Schwarzenegger was fined Ghc 60,000, the same as her fellow contemnors, after furiously pleading with the court to overturn her prison sentence.
The comedian was back in court today for contempt of court hearing.
After Chairman Wontumi sued her for contempt, Schwarzenegger was initially sentenced to ten days in jail for failing to appear in court.
Afia went into hiding to avoid the sentence, and she worked behind the scenes to have the warrant against her lifted.
She then came to plead her health as an excuse for not serving a jail term.
The judge appears to agree, and the sentence against her has now been reduced to a fine.
