Marie Claire Rupio is the widow of the late Ghanaian professional footballer Christian Atsu, who died in an earthquake that shook Turkey and northern Syria.

“I met my wife in Portugal, and as you can see, we have a beautiful family,” Atsu told TV3 Sports. We’ve been together for about nine to ten years, and I adore her.”

Christian Atsu was a family-oriented young man, as evidenced by videos and photos of him spending time with them when he wasn’t on the field scoring goals and representing his club.
