Report reaching us has it that military task force deployed by the government of Ghana to halt illegal mining in Ghana have set some excavators ablaze at Ankobra a suburb of Prestea.
According to Angel FM correspondent, Columbia said the military men got to Prestea at 6:30 a.m. in the morning of 27th May 2021 and so upon reaching there they saw a number of excavators packed on an open park.
This comes after the President asked all excavators owners to park their equipment because he can’t tolerate illegal mining. A total number of 15 excavators were burnt down.
The task force assumed the excavators were in use hence setting it on fire. Some owners of the excavators expressed displeasure over the actions taken by the task force.
Lazy President and Ministers! See how they are destroying Excavators that can be used to drench Odorna river! #FixingTheCountryGhana why not arrest the owners and use the machines for something better pic.twitter.com/pljIrPj5zQ
