The Managing Director for the Accra Digital Center Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has called on Ghanaians to exercise some restraint and give the new Energy Minister time to solve the incessant power supply situation.

Ghanaians are peeved at the government following the frequent cut in power supply across the country.

To many, the NPP government made a lot of noise about fixing dumsor and the fact that John Dramani Mahama was incompetent hence his inability to fix the power crisis in the country.

A number of Ghanaians are even more shocked by the fact that the government is denying the reality that the energy sector is in a mess and needs to be fixed but is blaming some construction work for the power cut.

But reacting to concerns shared especially on social media, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah indicated that it’s imperative the new Minister is given time to solve the challenges.

He indicated that the NDC hopes to capitalize on the power cuts but reminded them that this is never dumsor because it’s not nationwide but rather in some particular places in the country.

His post shared on Facebook read “Even 10 mins of power outage is not pleasant (the heat alone) so we all appreciate the frustrations with the recent outages but can we give the new Energy Minister sometime to solve the problems? Ministers were sworn in barely a month ago. If there are any issues which needs to be addressed holistically, at least it will take a little bit of time to fix them. Some yaanom are just hoping for dumsor equalisation but 3nfa. Dumsor was Nationwide. This is only in parts of Greater Accra and Ashanti and it will be fixed. Trust the competent Napo to deliver”.
