Come for your share of the beatings – Fans tell Stonebwoy after military invasion

A hilarious audio tape of a Stonebwoy fan pleading with the musician to return to Ashaiman for his fair share of military brutality is going viral.

The invasion of parts of Ashaiman and the brutality meted out to residents by soldiers on Tuesday morning over the murder of a colleague has sparked a nationwide debate.

Sherif Imoro, a 22-year-old soldier with the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) band in Sunyani, Bono Region, was allegedly stabbed to death in the early hours of Saturday.

In a statement, the Ghana Armed Forces said the operation they conducted in parts of Ashaiman was merely a swoop in a man-hunt for the perpetrators of the crime and not for vengeance.

Stonebwoy, who is currently in New York, issued a statement calling the military’s actions and the alleged murder of the late officer “acts of violence and lawlessness.”

In a tweet, he prayed that the men found guilty in these cases face justice.

Some fans, however, appear dissatisfied with his reaction to the ensuing chaos and have cheekily called on him to return to the community to receive his fair share of military brutality.

The disgruntled fan threatened to boycott his annual musical concert, dubbed “Ashaiman to the World,” in the audio that has gone viral.
