Conrad Moffat Black, is a Canadian-born former newspaper magnate, writer, and peer in the British House of Lords. He was born on August 25, 1944, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Black was the founder and former CEO of Hollinger International, a media company that owned newspapers around the world, including the Chicago Sun-Times, The Daily Telegraph in London, and The Jerusalem Post.
In 2007, he was convicted in the United States of fraud and obstruction of justice related to the misappropriation of company funds, and was sentenced to six and a half years in prison.
