However, Joel Nonoo now Mrs. Schmidth is said to have relocated to Germany some three years ago but has been in a relationship with his now husband for over five years.
The two married in a colorful ceremony attended by family and friends in Germany earlier this week. Videos of their marriage ceremony hit online and got a number of people talking about LGBTQI+ activities.
However, in Ghana, some Parliamentarians are kicking against the act which they describe as evil and contravenes the social fibre of the Ghanaian society.
The legislators have since filled a bill that it expects Parliament to pass as law in order to criminalize LGBTQI+ activities in the country.
The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram constituency, Sam George, who led the MPs to make the presentation, said it “is landmark legislation that has taken the last 14 weeks working with a fantastic team of professionals to put together. It is in my humble opinion a world-class piece of legislation which should be reference material for other Parliaments seeking to pass similar legislation.”
