James O’Keefe is an American conservative political activist and founder of Project Veritas, a right-wing activist group that conducts undercover operations with the goal of exposing what they consider to be liberal bias and corruption in the media, politics, and other areas.

O’Keefe first gained national attention in 2009 when he released selectively edited undercover videos that purported to show employees of the community organizing group ACORN giving advice on tax evasion and child prostitution.

The videos were later found to have been deceptively edited, and ACORN lost its federal funding and eventually disbanded. O’Keefe has also targeted media organizations such as CNN and The Washington Post, as well as political campaigns and organizations.

O’Keefe’s tactics have been criticized by many for their selective editing, deceptive practices, and disregard for journalistic ethics. He has been sued and has faced legal challenges for his actions, but he maintains that his work is a form of citizen journalism and that his tactics are necessary to expose wrongdoing.
