A husband and wife were nearly lynched after they were accused of stealing phones and money from a shop at Kasoa CP in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
The incident occurred early on Monday, February 6, 2023.
One of their accomplices, an Okada Rider, managed to flee, leaving the husband and wife at the mercy of the locals.
According to some victims, when the couple enters a shop, the husband will pretend to buy a number of goods in order to distract the shop owner, while the wife will steal items.
However, luck was not on their side, and they were caught in the act of attempting to steal from another shop.
Some enraged residents planned to beat them to death to teach them a lesson, but they were merciful and spared the two suspects’ lives.
They were later turned over to the Kasoa District Police Command, where they are currently assisting with the investigation.
