Mitch McConnell is a prominent American politician who has served as a United States Senator from Kentucky since 1985.

Mitch McConnell’s wife is Elaine Chao. She is a former Secretary of Labor under President George W. Bush and former Secretary of Transportation under President Donald Trump. Chao was the first Asian-American woman to hold a Cabinet-level position in U.S. history.
Chao was born in Taiwan and immigrated to the United States with her family when she was eight years old. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a degree in economics and then earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
McConnell and Chao married in 1993 and have been together since. As mentioned earlier, Chao’s family owns the Foremost Group, a shipping company based in New York.
Chao has recused herself from matters related to the company during her time in public service to avoid any potential conflicts of interest.
