This is the moment a British man was apprehended at a Colombian airport while attempting to fly with £2 million in cocaine in his luggage.

The man was said to be carrying 23kg when he was apprehended by police as he attempted to fly back home.

Authorities in Bogota said the man was stopped and searched after his “suspicious attitude” tipped off cops and a specialist sniffer dog named Maximo.

The drugs were said to have a street value of a whopping £2million

Footage shows the unnamed Brit’s suitcase being opened in front of cops, revealing what appears to be drugs.

“Now we’re going to do a narco test,” a police officer is overheard telling him through a translator.

The cop can then be seen slicing open a taped-up brick of what appears to be drugs.

The British appears to be standing with his hands in his pockets, staring blankly at the suitcase.

The suspect was apprehended at Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International Airport, which is located between Palmira and Cali.

It is the fourth busiest airport in Colombia.

“We found 16 packets containing 23 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride inside his luggage,” said Ever Gomez, commander of the Valle del Cauca police department, which covers the airport.

“He has been remanded in prison after appearing before a judge.”

The drugs the Brit was carrying are said to have a potential street value of around £2 million.

Local reports said the authorities were now trying to establish if the Brit had any connections with Colombian drugs gangs.

It is not known where in the UK he is from.
