Christian Atsu, the twin sister of missing Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu, has revealed that she has been having sleepless nights since news broke that his brother had not been found days after the earthquake in Turkey.
Christiana Atsupie Twasam has demanded to see his twin brother if, as widely reported on Tuesday morning, he has been rescued.
Following new updates from his club, there is growing concern and anxiety about the safety and well-being of Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu.
On Tuesday, February 7th, 2023, news came from Turkey that the Ghanaian had been discovered alive after only 26 hours under the earthquake rubble and had been transported to a hospital for treatment.
However, his club Hatayaspor made a dramatic U-turn on Wednesday, claiming that Atsu had not been found and that the reports of his discovery were a mistake.
Christian Atsu’s situation is becoming increasingly concerning as club officials reveal new information about his whereabouts.
“If you have seen him, we thank God but where is he? Nobody knows where my brother is, and it’s giving me nightmares,” Christiana Atsupie told crimecheckghana.org exclusively.
“I’m in a state of confusion right now; I’m not sure what to do.”
“This is a delicate situation for anyone to toil about, I know the team is doing what they can to look for their relatives as well as teammates but why would you release a statement confirming his safety when you have not seen him?” she quizzed.
Meanwhile the Hatayspor club doctor, Gurbey Kahveci revealed on Wednesday that the Ghanaian has not been found and it was a case of mistaken identity.
“When we heard the news that he was taken to Dortyol Hospital, we especially went and looked but he was not there. At the moment, we accept that the sporting director, Savut Taner, and Christian Atsu were not found unfortunately.”
Atsu’s family home in Ogbojo in Accra has been filled with sorrow and sadness as ace Sports journalist Dan Kwaku Yeboah visited the player’s home on Wednesday.
