Policeman arrested for stealing Honda motorbike which was a crime exhibit, other police property

Information MyNewsGh.com gathers indicates that a Policeman in Kintampo has been arrested for stealing Police exhibit.

According to the information we gather, the Policeman involved in this theft is Corporal Christian Adjei Boateng.

He is said to have been exposed by a colleague who saw him pushing a Honda Motorbike with registration No. M – 15 – UW – 2071 into a dark place across the road in front of the Police station, where a motorbike fitting shop is situated.

The complainant together with another officer is said to have gone to the fitting shop only to meet the absence of the Corporal According to the information we gather, the Policeman involved in this theft is Corporal Christian Adjei Boateng.

When the motor was brought back to the Police station, it was realized that it was an exhibit motorbike that had been chained together with others at the Police station.

A search was then mounted at his residence where the Police retrieved Ten (10) live AK 47 assault rifle ammunitions, one (1) Ghana Police Service Body Armour, one (1) Ghana Police Service Dead Body Bag, one (1) Ghana Police Service Ballistic Helmet and one (1) Wrap of dried plant substance suspected to be Narcotics.

The suspect Lance Corporal admitted ownership of the above mentioned items and stated that he smokes Indian hemp so the dried plant material was what he had purchased to smoke. He failed to disclose his source of supply and also failed to produce any lawful written authorisation to posses same. The Police man suspect also admitted stealing the AK 47 ammunition and the other police accoutrements but again failed to mention where he stole same from.

Corporal Christian Adjei has since been arrested and detained for investigation while the exhibit motorbike retained for evidential purposes.
