Satish Kaushik was an Indian film director, actor, and screenwriter who primarily works in Hindi cinema. He was born on April 13, 1956, in Mahendragarh, Haryana, India.
Kaushik started his career as an assistant director to Shekhar Kapur in the movie “Masoom” (1983). He made his acting debut in the movie “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro” (1983), which went on to become a cult classic.
He has acted in several successful films such as “Ram Lakhan” (1989), “Saajan Chale Sasural” (1996), “Mohabbatein” (2000), and “Brick Lane” (2007).
Kaushik has also directed and written several successful movies such as “Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja” (1993), “Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain” (1999), “Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai” (2001), and “Tere Naam” (2003), among others.
Apart from his work in movies, Kaushik has also appeared in various television shows such as “Comedy Nights with Kapil” and “The Kapil Sharma Show” as a guest.
He has also been a judge on various reality shows such as “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007” and “Indian Idol 3”.
Kaushik died of a heart attack in Gurugram on 9 March 2023, at the age of 66.
