It was a lively studio panel discussion today, Tuesday, March 30, 2021 on GHOne as the panelists discussed the appointment of Asiedu Nketia on the Parliamentary Advisory Board. The host, Lantam Papanko first engaged John Kuma, the MP for Ejisu on his thoughts about the appointments.
“It appears that the NDC are determined to politicize Parliament such that they have sent Asiedu Nketia to sit on the Parliamentary Board. Why should it be Asiedu Nketia? Why not anyone but him? They want to attack the Majority in many key issues. This sparks of partisanship and politicization of Parliament. The NDC are even attacking each other for approving Ken Ofori Atta.
They cannot say it but I have to say it for them. My senior, Mahama Ayariga is part of the Caucus and so cannot say it. But this isn’t right. Things aren’t right in the NDC There are competent people in the NDC. Muntaka has failed with his work as Chief Whip so they have decided to bring in Asiedu to whip the MPs in line. They are bringing him as a headmaster to check their members. Something is seriously wrong” the MP noted.
He noted that this was a bad precedent and shouldn’t be tolerated. He was of the view that the NPP isn’t scared of Asiedu Nketia coming to Parliament but there was the need to check the deliberate politicization of Parliament by the NDC.
Is the NDC politicizing Parliament? What are the NPP afraid of about Asiedu Nketia? Was Asiedu Nketia’s appointment meant to check the NDC MPs? Share your thoughts.
