Member of Parliament for the Ningo-Prampram constituency in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, Sam Nettey George has reacted to the calls by some party faithful to have a change in the minority leader in Parliament.
Reacting to the issue on Good morning Ghana hosted by Dr. Randy Abbey, the Ningo-Prampram legislator boldly indicated that, the caucus is fully behind the leadership of Haruna Iddrisu and trust them to deliver and lead the party to victory in 2024. “On January 5th, even before the Speaker was elected, the party’s leadership entrusted the minority caucus into the hands of Haruna Iddrisu, James Klutse Avedzi, Mohammed-Muntaka Mubarak and the other whips to lead the minority until a determination is made by the Supreme Court”.
“I don’t think they need to be changed. Yesterday we held a meeting with the party’s leadership and I can say every member of the minority caucus supports the decision of the party over the approval of President Akuffo-Addo’s ministerial nominees”.
Sam George admonished the base of his party to rally behind the leadership of the minority because all the decisions made are in the interest of the party. Reacting to the resignation of Okudjeto Ablakwa from the appointments committee, be said he respects the decision of his colleague and will not utter a word because of the personal reasons stated in his letter.
