Ghanaians’ good mood over the Christian Atsu saga has just turned sour again after his agent stated that the footballer is still missing.
According to Christian Atsu’s agent, Nana Sechere, they are unable to confirm the footballer’s whereabouts.
He said in a statement that they have searched numerous hospitals and are still unable to locate the former Ghana international after news of his discovery broke on Tuesday.
“Following yesterday’s update from the club that Christian had been rescued alive, we have yet to confirm Christian’s whereabouts.
“As you can imagine, this continues to be a devastating time for his family and we are doing everything we can to locate Christian.
“As new information becomes available, official updates will be provided. Please respect the families’ privacy during this difficult time, and refrain from spreading false information, as this will only impede the search for Christian.
“Thank you for all of your prayers and support,” he said in a statement.
The shocking news comes after Mustafa zat, the manager of Atsu’s club Hatayspor, confirmed that Atsu had been found injured.
“Christian Atsu was injured and was removed. Taner Savut, our sporting director, is still unavailable.
“I just had another meeting,” he explained after a while. Christian Atsu was injured and was taken to the hospital.”
Meanwhile, Ghana’s ambassador to Turkey, Francisca Ashitey-Odunton, insists that Atsu has been found but cannot be found due to the current confusion.
“We’re yet to establish contact with Christian Atsu because of the confusion around but we know he’s been pulled out of the rubble and sent to the hospital”. Wednesday morning, she said.
