A robber who crept through an elderly man’s bedroom window and assaulted him has been imprisoned.
Jamie Wightman dragged his 81-year-old victim from his bed and assaulted him, demanding cash and valuables.
During the attack in Mansfield, the pensioner suffered a fractured eye socket and spine, as well as being stabbed in the leg.

When Wightman appeared in Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, he was sentenced to ten years and six months in prison.
The 25-year-old from Mansfield’s Bamford Drive pleaded guilty to robbery.
‘Shocked and appalled’
According to police, the attack occurred on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the victim’s home in the Bellamy Road area of town.
Wightman was identified using CCTV and his fingerprints after fleeing with the man’s wallet and mobile phone.
“This was an incident that shocked and appalled the local community,” Nottinghamshire Police Det Con Bethany Sumner said.
“As a cop, I’ve worked on a lot of cases, but this was without a doubt one of the worst.
“Wightman chose not only to burgle an elderly man but also to subject him to a sustained and wholly unnecessary attack.
“Unsurprisingly, what happened that day had a significant emotional impact on the victim.”
